Life insurance built like a system, not a sales pitch.

I spent years designing systems at IBM before I started designing financial protection for people. I bring the same discipline here: figure out what actually needs to be protected, then build the smallest, cleanest structure that does it.

The Coverage Map

Three questions, before any product.

Most conversations about insurance start with a product. I start with what the money is actually for. Everything I offer sorts into one of three jobs — and most people need pieces of all three, in a specific order.

Personal Protection

The floor under your household if something happens to you.

  • Term life insurance
  • Whole life insurance
  • Living benefits riders

Tax-Advantaged Growth

Structures that grow and distribute money efficiently, on your terms.

  • Indexed Universal Life (IUL)
  • Annuities
  • Roth conversion strategy

Business Protection

Keeping the business intact when a key person or partner is gone.

  • Buy-sell agreements
  • Key man insurance
  • Executive bonus plans
Services

Where most engagements start.

These are the conversations I have most often. If yours doesn't fit neatly into one, that's normal — most protection plans are a blend.

Term & whole life

Straightforward income replacement and legacy coverage, sized to your actual obligations — not a round number.

Indexed Universal Life

Cash-value growth tied to market indexes with downside floors. I have a dedicated tool for modeling this at iulguy.co.

Annuities & Roth conversions

Turning accumulated savings into predictable, tax-aware income — and deciding when a Roth conversion actually pays for itself.

Buy-sell agreements

Funding the agreement that keeps ownership from becoming a fight if a partner dies or exits unexpectedly.

Key man insurance

Protecting the business against the financial gap left by losing the person it depends on most.

Executive bonus plans

A clean way to reward and retain key employees using life insurance as the funding vehicle.

About

From Continental Bank's mainframes to your protection plan.

Before insurance, I spent years in corporate technology, including a long run at IBM supporting Continental Bank's systems. That work taught me to look for the single point of failure in a system before anything else — the "Ray" story I tell clients about a key man policy that actually mattered started right there.

I brought that same instinct into insurance: find the failure point first, then build the smallest structure that closes it. I work independently, which means the recommendation is built around your numbers, not a captive carrier's quota.

I'm based out of Berwyn, Illinois, and currently living in Colombia — which means most of my client work happens by phone, video, and text rather than in an office. It hasn't slowed anything down.
